FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern baseball team (18-10, 3-3 SSC) will hit the road for its next Sunshine State Conference series, as the Sharks take on the Saint Leo Lions (20-10, 1-5 SSC) in a three-game series. The series begins on Thursday at 6 p.m. and continues with a Friday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
The Sharks enter the series after a marathon home series against Barry this past weekend. The Sharks did not win the series, but earned a come-from-behind win in extra innings in the final game, 10-9. The win displayed how hard it is to face the Sharks at home, as NSU has not been swept in a three-game series in four years.
Although they salvaged the weekend in game three, the Sharks are in need of a big series win in order to put themselves back in the running for a SSC title or a NCAA South Regional bid. However, the task at hand will be a difficult one, as Saint Leo is 11-3 at home this season.
Historically, the Sharks will be looking to maintain their recent dominance over Saint Leo. The Sharks have won 10 straight games against the Lions, a run that has crossed over four seasons. Four of those ten games have come at Saint Leo.
